Gold Jewelry FAQ

Answers to common questions about gold jewelry, sizing and choosing a piece.

What do 10K, 14K and 18K mean?

Karat describes gold purity: 10K is about 41.7% gold, 14K about 58.3%, and 18K 75%. The remaining metals affect color and durability. Karat alone does not tell you the weight or construction of a piece.

Are solid gold, hollow gold and gold plated the same?

No. Solid gold describes a gold alloy rather than a surface coating. A gold piece can have hollow construction, which is a separate question. Ask for both the karat and whether the construction is solid or hollow. Gold plated has a layer of gold over another material.

How should I compare two gold pieces?

Compare karat, weight in grams, dimensions, construction and included stones. A heavier piece at the same karat contains more gold. For a simple example, a hypothetical $2,000 piece weighing 25 grams costs $80 per gram; a $1,800 piece weighing 20 grams costs $90 per gram. Design, stones and workmanship also affect price. These are examples, not store prices or resale valuations.

How do I measure necklace length?

Use a flexible tape or a string around your neck where you want the chain to sit, then measure the string flat. A 24-inch chain is approximately 61 cm in total length, not 61 cm from your neck to the pendant. Fit varies with neck size and chain style.

What does chain width in millimeters mean?

Width is measured across the chain, not along it. Compare 3, 4, 5 or 7 mm with a ruler and check the available options on the product page. Width does not determine weight: construction and link design matter too.

Does a virtual try-on guarantee the fit?

No. It is a visual reference, not a measurement or a guarantee of appearance. Confirm the listed length and width. Our Fit Kit contains demonstration samples, not gold jewelry; review its product page for exactly what is included and its purchase terms.

How should I care for my jewelry?

Store pieces separately and avoid chlorine, strong chemicals and rough handling. For plain gold, gentle cleaning with mild soap, lukewarm water and a soft cloth is generally suitable. Pearls, stones, settings and finishes can require different care; ask before soaking or using an ultrasonic cleaner.

Is gold jewelry guaranteed not to cause allergies?

No. Gold jewelry contains other metals, and sensitivity varies by person. We cannot guarantee that a piece will cause no reaction. Ask about the alloy if you have a known metal sensitivity.

Are free shipping and a gift box included?

The solid 10K Cuban chain and Cuban bracelet product pages advertise free shipping and an LED gift box. Check the specific product page and the delivery information at checkout for your address; do not assume every product has the same offer.

What should I check before ordering?

Confirm the selected variant, dimensions, karat, price and delivery details. Read the return policy before paying. If a specification is missing, contact us rather than guessing from a photo.
